Metrocoat Aqueous Coating
Aqueous or water-based coatings are the most commonly used coating in the printing industry today. They provide protection and provide an aesthetically pleasing look to the printed piece. Available coatings include Gloss, Satin or Matte finishes. Soft-touch, pearlescent, glitter, hIgh rub, slip, or non-skid are all possible.
The ability to apply them in a wide variety of equipment over most ink types adds to their popularity. Considered Eco friendly, they have either no or very low VOC Content.
They can be applied in Gravure, Flexo/Anilox, Ink train, and roller-coaters.
